Dr. Rustam DeVitre’s expertise in dentistry spans many subjects, giving him the unique ability to masterfully treat the most complex oral rehabilitation cases. He is a Implant rehab prosthodontist who is known for his capacity to manage temporomandibular joint issues along with natural teeth and implant supports.His background is centered around esthetics, as he has a meticulous eye for detail and understands what is cosmetically appealing. Dr. DeVitre has conducted research in cementation, dental ceramics, and computer-aided design in dentistry—his work has been published in the Journal of Prosthodontic Dentistry. Currently, he has a patent pending on a Novell implant drill concept for implant placement.Dr Devitre has traveled internationally and lectured on faculty both with Tufts Graduate dept and with the International Academy of Dental Implantology.
In 1973, Dr. DeVitre graduated from Government Dental College, in Bombay, India, where he also completed his Orthodontics MDS1. He then attended the Postgraduate Program in Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine from 1974-1976 and received his Certificate of Prosthodontics in 1976. In 1977, he joined Tufts’ predoctoral class to obtain his DMD.
From 1976-1984, Dr. DeVitre taught in the Department of Restorative Dentistry at Tufts as an Assistant Professor while working in their faculty practice. Dr. DeVitre then opened his prosthodontic practice in Boston, in 1987 where he continues to practice and is now with the face Dental Group. He is a member of the Academy of Dental Science, past member American College of Prosthodontics, the American Dental (2022 )Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, 2022 Past President of Northeast Cranio-mandibular Society ,and is well known and highly respected in Boston’s dental community. He is a very proud Past alumnus of Tufts Dental School, volunteering his time to be on their Board of Directors since 2012.
Outside of the dental world, Dr. DeVitre enjoys supporting and incubating entrepreneurship in the local Boston community. His pastimes include sharing his love of kiting, boating, and travel with his family.
